seasons of life – Fall

This week we’ve talked about Winter, Spring, Summer and now the Fall time of life. Not the the weather or the calendar season. The feeling, the mood, the flow.

This time period is when the harvest from all the hard work is coming in. The times are good, you are feeling like you’ve got it all figured out. Celebration time.  After the flow comes in though you may notice that things start slowing down.  Some projects come to the end of their cycle, maybe relationships that have served their purpose now end. As fall is wrapping up you may start to feel scared at whether you’ve done something wrong, should you have appreciated the summer of overflow more? Savored those times with that friend more?  While some things may have been changed by closer observance, generally speaking you mind, body and spirit may be ready for a bit of downtime. Time to process what has happened and fully appreciate, time to rest, time to think, time to learn new ways.

seasons of life – Summer

Yesterday we talked about the springtime period of life.  Today we’ll talk about Summer, not the season but the time of life, relationships, business.

During the times of summer we are in the overflowing, blooming period. Loving surrounded by enough. More than enough, inspired, in love, enjoying the moments.  Things seem easy, they seem to just fall into place. People appear when you hoped for them, the stars feel aligned.  awww. Bask in the warmth.

seasons of life – Spring

Monday I shared my thoughts on the winter times of life, our careers and relationships. Today the focus is on the spring times in our lives.

I can feel the buds beginning to bloom.  The winter freeze is thawing, things are starting to come of the work I’ve put in the last few months. Conversation flows more smoothly, it’s still an uphill climb but the green tips poking through the soil keep me inspired and moving forward.  My vision is become clearer, I feel the warmth again reassuring me. Summer is coming.

seasons of life – Winter

This week I want to share some new artwork.  After an abundant and crazy busy fall and holiday season I crashed. I was exhausted and through the Minnesota January and February I felt myself go into a wintery cacoon.  I could feel things brewing beneath the surface yet new it was too early to bring them out to the world.  I’ve been thinking about how each part of our year, relationships, work can have seasons.  Each day I will talk about one of those, share poetry about it, a piece of artwork (the larger one is the one of today) and about what it’s deeper meaning is.  Note that these don’t necessarily have to take place when the weather season happen.

Excitement.

When things are quiet, seemingly frozen in time.  No matter how hard you push or try it seems like nothing budges.  It’s a time of rest. It’s sometimes hard, but I try to tell myself when I feel like this that I need to rest up because big things are coming and I will need my energy for them.  So I keep showing up, even if it seems for awhile like the results are few.  Be diligent, persisitent. Things will pick up. I now try to enjoy that time, catch up on other areas that had been neglected during my busy season. Put in to practice my beliefs of having faith and patience. Spring will come.
