It doesn’t have to be so hard, does it?

My whole life I’ve been taught (or just assumed) that we must force things, head down, grinding it out to make things happen. While that is true at times, what if things don’t have to be hard to mean they are worthwhile? I’ve always had an underlying feeling like fun had to be earned. Especially working on my own business there is always work to be done and it can feel like there is never time or validation for frivolous fun. The last few years though I’ve started to notice that it’s the times when I’m allowing myself to be swallowed up by fun and life’s simple enjoyments that inspiration hits, I’ll see an order come through or finally get clarity on something I’ve been thinking about. hmm It got me thinking and researching and turns out that nudge and subtle noticing is right on. Swimming against the current doesn’t mean it’s smarter or better. I’m sharing this image as much for me as anyone else. In the flow of inspiration and joy

bridging the time and money gap so you can go for your dreams

black bird art inspiring go for dreams

As a small business owner I have gone to all sorts of extremes to be able to wake up each day and pursue my dream of being an artist while also being at home raising my kids.  There have been times where money has flowed almost effortlessly (after a bazillion hours behind the scenes sweating and praying and staying up late into the night for months on end)  and there are other times where it’s taken some creativity to make things happen, pay off bills, get ahead and live another day to get to paint and get the luxury of working from home in my sweatpants with my favorite movies on in the background.

I think most often we just need to hear that it’s okay for us to want to make our dreams a reality.  Whether it’s business, traveling, staying home with the kids, not staying home with the kids… that we can empower ourselves and set up our lives to make these things a reality.  We don’t have to wait until someone “gets us” or validates us.  If that dream keeps coming up, pay attention!!   We are resourceful, we figure stuff out, we connect people, we do amazing things!  Trust yourself and know that you can figure out details, work hard enough to overcome what you face and also give yourself permission to change your mind later!!   Don’t live a life of regret because you spent it trying to be the nice person who gave their time and energy to everyone else.  Be kind to others… but also be kind and honor yourself.   Don’t wait for others to set boundaries to protect your time, your energy or your dreams.  You have to do it!

If you’re already doing those things then stop reading.  If you’re needing help on how to start making time, money and room for your  dreams.  Here are some nitty gritty details:

Is it money holding you back?  I’m gonna get really real at the extremes I (we) have gone to.  I share this because I know often it’s not a 3k difference to able to stay home with your babies, to buy supplies to pursue your dream or just to get some extra money put away in case who knows what happens.

  1.  Get really real.  We got really honest about every dime we spend, every month.   This is not new to me, I have prints of spreadsheets from the 90’s still socked away. How fun to look back and reminisce about having rent that was under $600 and where money was spent.   Now, all in one big excel spreadsheet I can look back at any month and see what was spent, plan ahead, see where we could have saved, etc.  (not what you expected #1 to be from an artist huh…)  I get a natural high from creating spreadsheets, I confess.
  2. Cut out the unnecessary stuff.  Pick your battles.  We rarely go out to eat.  We hike, watch movies, listen to music, hang out mostly for free.  We get a TON of movies from the library too.  I ask myself before I buy anything that isn’t a necessity, “do I want this more than I want to be at home with the kids and working my own business or traveling?”.
  3. Dig deeper.  I use lots of natural products.  I started simple with laundry detergent a few years ago, I now use natural toothpaste, mouthwash, cleaner, sea salt spray, cleaners.  This feeds my budget and also my ever growing desire for less chemicals in my life.
  4. Bulk cooking.  Google, use pinterest or get creative with your favorite recipes and  you can save big time in the kitchen.  Saving both money and time and energy.  Spending an afternoon prepping 30 meals is a drag, I admit.  For over a decade I didn’t eat meat, so this was tougher to do then, trying to come up with meals for everyone. Do a search on bulk cooking or once a month cooking.  I then use these recipes a couple times a week to fill in and it saves me a ton of stress.   My daughter loves meat. My husband is indifferent but comes home starving after working long hours.  My son’s diet requires no food colorings or wheat and very minimal sugar and he avoids most meats and I avoid wheat, grains and sugar.   So cooking meals everyday for all these different eating styles is no easy talk.  Cooking large batches of soups and chili help a ton and freezing them in small portions help a ton.  You get the idea… this could very easily be a super expensive area of our life but even with buying mostly organic, I just cook a ton from scratch and get creative and use my crock pot more and more.
  5. Use the dryer less.  It’s my goal each month to use the dryer as little as possible. Sometimes just to fluff clothes back up. Buy or build a drying rack.  In our old house I got really creative and hung clothes near the fireplace.  In our new house we have a laundry room now; wahoo.  We nailed tons of nails and screws going up the stairs and have a place to hang hangers with shirts on them so this helps us dry almost all our laundry for FREE.
  6. We keep investing in LED lighting, turn off lights in rooms we aren’t in and are diligent about not wasting electricity.
  7. Interest rates – in our new house we were able to get a 15 year mortgage for over 3% LOWER than our mortgage on our last  house.  This alone will save us over $50,000!  HUGE savings.  While we don’t see the difference each month necessarily since our payment is about the same as it was; we know that 100 bucks a week that used to go to interest now goes towards our principal.  This is so huge.
  8. Alternate energy – this is a whole other area but if possible find ways to incorporate alternative energy.  Out here at our new house we were able to purchase a wood burner for outside.  On the 6 acres we live there were more than enough trees already down waiting for us to get us through this winter.  So thankfully after buying the wood burner and outside of the very small electricity to run our boiler system the rest of our heat is free.  (just lots of family time gathering wood together).  Wind, solar, turning off the lights to save what  you can… it all adds up.

Those are just a few ideas. Mostly it took being all focused towards the same goal, giving up on having new everything.  I really pick when I need new clothes, mostly the kids where consignment or g. sale clothes. Name brand, cute clothes for way cheaper =  more money to build a business.

Is it Time you’re needing more of?

Many of the business courses I’ve taken and coaches I’ve hear recommend hiring out for everything that is less than what you want to make an hour.  Pour all your time into your money making, genius zone.  In theory this makes sense.  However when you are first starting or until things are really flowing this can be a tough one.  So I’ve really had to do things in phases, a few years ago when I had my art studio, a 2 years old and life was super full; that fall and winter I hired someone to come clean our home. During my busiest season… this was priceless.   I also had interns come to my studio and help me on my website, marketing, stuffing prints, etc.

What could this mean for you?  Maybe start with the things that you despise, don’t let those things be the bottle neck in your business, instead hire those out.  Then as you can afford, start with the things that cost the least to hire out to people that thrive in those areas.  Don’t feel like you need to do that all at once, but definitely don’t feel like you need to do it all yourself.

For me I try to think in phases… either during certain busy seasons I might contract with people, or recruit interns.  Or once you hit a certain income level then start contracting out certain services.  For me this could mean having artwork packaged by a shipping company during busier times, paying people to stuff greeting cards or prints, put stickers on things.  Or it could mean investing in a shipping scale and having the post office or shipping company pick up packages from your home or business.

What are you currently doing that could be slowing down your growth or joy?  Or is there something you’re determined to accomplish but your lack of knowledge or time is holding you back?   Or is there things in your personal life that you could delegate or hire out to get you more time or money to pursue your business?  Working with other parents to carpool kids to practices, house cleaning, getting kids to do more around the house.

What ideas would you share?

how to save yourself from firing everyone

Today I watched a fellow entreprenuer send out a newsletter and post online a message to all of the people on her mailing list to FUC# ‘n buy something or get off her list.  Can you imagine getting an email like that?

This is a beautiful, talented and seemingly confident woman.  What made her snap at her potential clients?  Well, she talked about giving things away for free but no one ever buying after that.  People using her time and draining her knowledge bank by asking her to lunch but then never paying and getting free coaching.  Spending 10’s of thousands on business solutions but not having them turn into profits.  I can empathize with her frustration over not seeing the monetary success she’d hoped to at this point.  But it got me thinking…  how can somebody prevent getting to that level of frustration?

I’m sure it was no coincidence that I was finalizing the boundaries chapter of the upcoming Finding Myself in the Moonligh ebook last night, so boundaries are fresh on my mind.  We have to remember we often teach people how to treat us.  I have zero personal knowledge about what is going on behind the scenes of this woman’s business, but from what she shared and my perspective I see 5 boundary breakdowns. Let me share:

boundaries_wall

1. Overgiving – Give away a free promotion for signing up for a newsletter is common practice.  But giving away knowledge and uplifing messages everyday for a year without a solid plan to monitize it and it may lead to burn out and people expecting free from you instead of gaining the clients that value and would pay money for your knowledge.  Figure out the best path to share knowledge that works for you but won’t leave you completely burnt out.

2. Spending more than we have – when we take class after class, invest in companies and leverage everything we own for our business it leaves us in a place of desperation.  In some businesses people have turned that desperation into money, but when people sense that desperation they go running.  It’s not even conscious most of the time, somthing just smells off.  Build slowly and at the pace you can handle.  It doesn’t matter if people around you seem to do it faster and better, if it’s not what works for you then don’t do it.  The limelight and praises that can come from everyone thinking things are great, making our business seem bigger than it is or more successfull are short sighted.  It’s a delicate dance; you want to stay open to where you are headed, be positive and share the good but know that you can’t live off that praise.  The joy, fuel and get’er done-ness needs to come from within.

3. Don’t let others spend your money – People sell amazing products and services all over the world.  Often we can want so many of these.  The immediate answer so often is to “charge it”.  I’ve been guilty of this in my past as well.  Then just tell myself that this course or product will help me make more money and I’ll pay it back right away.  It may be true but it may not be true.   I have also learned that other people may not think $10k is a big deal, it may not be in their world.  But the reality is whether it’s $30 or $3000 or $30000 you have to be okay losing it if you spend (invest) it. It’s always a gamble.  No matter how good the deal, the class, the coaching or the product sounds if it puts your family in financial ruin then you need to find a plan B.  Don’t lose touch with your inner knowing. Think bigger then that immediate moment of temptation or pressure. Be okay with telling that person you need to think about it.  We can’t always pay our way out of something. Sometimes the answers come from believing in ourselves, getting quiet and listening to the next steps, praying and meeting people face to face.

4. Invite all I see online into my own life as truth – I see other artists or business owners that seem to have it all together.  The perfect studio, their art is unique and seems like it’s selling like crazy.  Jealousy can creep in so easy.   So can believing that whatever is working for that person is also what would work for me.  There are times I’ve been a bit envious of the paths of my sisters. Both are nurses they’ve had to follow steps A-Z then they are a nurse.  (and a ton of hard work) but the point is there is a path. A path that if stay on and keep plugging then you’ll get to the next step and the next step after that.   Owning a business isn’t the same.  Every single path is a bit different.  Especially in a personal business like art or coaching, it’s the soul and personal connection that is being the computer, the art, the phone that can often differentiate one company from another.

This can translate into how we see other mom’s whose kids are always perfectly dressed, families who are always vacationing and seem like life is so perfect.  Stick to your own path.  Make it the best you can! Believe in yourself!

5. Don’t give it away unintentionally – it’s perfect fine to say no to someone who wants to pick your brain for free. The answer to that (if you’ve run into it) is to have a way to flow them into your business by offering what you already have.  This could be a Frequently Asked Questions section on your website, a blog or an area where you have classes.  Or set up a free consultation, the point is to have a plan.  There is nothing wrong with giving knowledge away for free, the point is that you get to decide!  Often times it comes down to time, there isn’t enough time in the day to have the same conversations over and over no matter how much we wish we could.  Other times I’ve heard from coaches is that people want free coaching under the disguise of lunch or coffee.  It gets tricky when it’s the bread and butter of your business and you need to charge to be able to have a sustainable business.   Figure out what works for you and how you can solve this if it’s something you run into.

I wish this fellow business own the best.  It’s my hope that we can learn from her experience and save ourselves from that level of frustration and anger.  On the bright side whoever is left on her mailing list after today is most likely a hard core, paying client.  Maybe she’ll get her wish after all.

Sending you all the best!

Waiting to be “discovered”

It’s an epidemic in the arts world.  I was as guilty as everyone else.  The mindset of waiting for someone to “discover” me.  Some amazing person, with clout, ideas and a vision to step in and say, “Noelle, I know just what we should do with your art.  I know exactly how you should market, in fact I’ve hired someone to do that for you.  I found your ideal customer.  Now you can stay in your studio and paint all day with no worries of anything else.”

women'sexpo2013

hmmmm    It seems silly now looking back but I know I’m not alone.

My sisters are nurses.  They had a clear path to get there.  Follow steps A through Z and at the end you’ll be a nurse.  Someone will tell you what the pay is for that, you’ll find a facility that will schedule you and you’ll have patients waiting for you each day when you arrive.   I’ve had to accept that my path in not like that.  Not only accept it but thrive on my own, winding path.

I heard Christine Kane talk about this concept of waiting to be discovered a few months ago and it was a light bulb moment for me.  I was indeed letting a part of me wait for someone else to deem me worthy of charging a certain price for my artwork.  Someone else telling me I am now magically qualified enough to teach a course that I know in my soul that I’m meant to teach but was holding onto a little fear over.

Fellow creatives,  it’s in our hands.  WE control our destiny.  You have the right to create the art that speaks to you, sing the style of music that lights you up.  Charge what you know in your soul you need to get for a painting and NOT letting fear or lack mindset takeover.

Take this moment,  DISCOVER yourself.   YOU are what you’ve been waiting for!

I deem you qualified to figure out a plan that works for you.  You are smart enough to hire the right professionals that can help you on your journey, you are passionate enough about your craft that you know deep in your gut when you quiet down and listen who the clients and customers are that you really want to work with.  You know that you have the power to discover yourself.

Then, if at some point you get published, an agent, a licensing deal or huge contract it will be icing on your already solid cake.

Now it’s up to you to own that.  Live it.  Speak it. Breathe it.  Let the world see your light.

Fall updates and new announcements!

It’s been a year full of all sorts of changes so I wanted to take a few minutes and share a few new stores I’m in, where you can find my work and what new work I’m offering.  Plus I have a SUPER big announcement that I haven’t told anyone about yet. You’ll find that all the way at the bottom.  yep, I’m (not so subtly) sneaky like that.

At the end of July I ended my year at the studio, it was a really great time. I made a tough decision to listen to the inner voice telling me that even though it was great and parts I loved, it wasn’t a perfect fit.  I found myself producing and selling a lot of work, racing between home and the studio and yet somehow not any further ahead. I am learning to really appreciate that as much as I fight it, it’s when I quiet down and make myself sit in that silence for a bit that my best and deepest (most daring) ideas come to me.  2 days after moving out of the studio my family went on a 2 week road trip through Utah and out to Oregon and up to Washington and back through Montana. We did about 1/2 camping and 1/2 hotels. It was really great. Not only is the nature and site seeing incredible I am always amazed at how much it feeds my soul to take time away and be an observer. I let myself relax more, reserve judgement and just take it all in. I don’t think I’ve been on a vacation yet that didn’t change me and help me know myself better. Now with both the kids at school and preschool each day and after the changes I feel like I’m finding my groove again and hitting my stride.

NEW artwork, stores and more:

My music artwork is hanging on display until the end of the month at the Egg & I East restaurant in St. Paul (off Univ. and 280).

In a few weeks you’ll be able to start finding my Soulful Yoga artwork at the Living Waters Cafe. 12201 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55305

I have a few studios out east now carrying my Soulful Yoga series, you can also now find my prints, cards and some pallet artwork in Anoka, MN at the New Moon Metaphysical Store. They are great, and offer classes and more.

I have been expanding my small print selection.  These are small prints mounted into a 5″x7″ mat. They are ready to fit into a standard size frame that can be found at any store. People have been loving them to give as gifts and they are perfect to hang up around the office or a cubicle.  I have a few new selections on my Etsy page.

These are great and people have loved that you can add a name or # if you choose also.  Only $47 for an 8″x10″.  Great for a middle school or high school athlete. I’ve also had some that have been adding to their collection each quarter that I offer a new sport and are building a sports themed family room. Love that.  In November I’ll be offering a basketball and hockey special!

Harmony Project:

Lastly, I am excited to announce that I’ve hit the $2500 mark on my fundraising for my Israel trip!!  I thank each of you who have so generously donated and purchased bracelets from me the last 8 months.    I’m both trying to celebrate the moment and feel the gratitude and also know that I still have $7000 still to raise.  I have to admit that it is not in my comfort zone to feel so publicly vulnerable and at such risk to not reach my goal all while everyone is watching.  I am trusting that things will continue to come together and I know that I am meant to be over in Jerusalem next May.  I see such a need for what we’ll be doing over there. In fact I love it that I’m beginning to be abt le to use some of these same skills and perspective I’m learning for over there and apply them right here in my own town and in fact even my own family.  This entire journey is so beautifully teaching me and making me a better person.  I would love to ask you to take a look at all the bracelets I have on my website. I have gotten another 80+ in since I’ve shared before.  The earth tone brown seems to be the most popular this fall, there are just a few of those left.  You can view them by either color or style on the website. I will also have bracelets with me at each of the shows listed above.  You can see them here.

I also have an online fundraising drive going for the next 27 days. I am at $33 raised out of a goal of $500 on here.  If you can even donate $11 I’d be SO grateful.  There are some new incentives and gifts for donations this time also.  Please check it out. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/noelle-rollins-harmony-israel-palestinian-trip-round-2

finding “real life” in an online world

webSurrender8x10

I didn’t have a cell phone until I was 19. Didn’t have an email address or my own computer until college.  I spent half my life with none of the on-line world we have today. So I feel like I should be able to navigate my way through balancing both my regular person to person life and an online life.  Most of the time I think I do great. I pride myself that if you met me in person you’d find the exact same person that I present online.  Yet a couple months ago noticed I have this subtle empty feel.  This feeling as if there is so much going on, I see my feed of my hundreds of artist friends out conquering the world and their beautiful work.  In a weak moment it would leave me wondering if there is any room left for me? I intellectually knew better, of course there is.  I would get just enough of a feeling of knowing what is going on with people around me that I forget to then actually follow up in real life with people outside of the my immediate family.  Phone calls with friends were rare, extended relatives same thing.  I missed just sitting and chatting with people face to face.

So the last month I have started taking control.  I cleaned up my facebook. If I haven’t seen someone in the last year or so in real life then most likely I hid them from my news feed.  Most of my artist friends, love their work but had to hide them for a bit. I started paying attention to people that when I would see their feeds I would notice a reaction in my body, either a little annoyance or defensiveness or anger. I made a conscious choice that I don’t want those people part of my daily life  so I hid ’em.  In real life same thing; I have too many fabulous, loving and uplifting people to spend my time around people that repeatedly drain my energy.  The results are almost immediate and so freakin’ freeing!  My next steps, less online time all together.  I’m making it my summer goal to unplug much more. More coffee dates and park dates with friends. Feed my soul with actual human interaction.  Keep my head down and just keep my eyes on my own work for awhile.  I get my best creative ideas not from looking through the world for inspiration but from quieting down and listening. (The exact opposite of what my ego wants to do).  I love the power that comes from very intentional, scheduled online time, just reading the blogs and updates of the people I choose.  When I’m sitting at my daughters fastpitch games I will be mind, body and soul at her game.  When I’m at the studio I’ll be 100% there.  And best of all that leaves me being 100% here when I’m home with my kids and hubby.

I’d love to hear from any of you that have faced this challenge also.  How have you handled it?   Much love, Noelle

Israel here I come!

I am thrilled to share with you my exciting news!

First, in order to catch you up fully let me rewind: Four years ago today, my beautiful mother passed away unexpectedly. The years since then have been filled by every emotion possible. In addition to being an LPN at a nursing home for many years by mom later devoted years to raising all of us kids. This brought us all a closeness, a protectiveness and a loving admiration for her that we will cherish forever. One thing that I have taken from that experience is a hunger for finding a way for me to connect and help other women see their inner light.

This leads me to today. I have an amazing opportunity to be a part of a project that is bigger than anything I could ever dream to accomplish on my own. In May, 2014 I will join 333 women from the Western world (US, Canada, etc) and we will go to Bethlehem, Israel for a week. While there we will join with 333 Israeli women and 333 Palestinian women for a 3 day retreat. During this trip we will follow in the footsteps of a smaller scale retreat that successfully took place in the fall of 2012, where a total of 33+ women from these 3 areas had breakthroughs, hugs, love and connection. To learn more about what we will do while there I have created a page devoted to this project here on my website.
To help accomplish this, I will embark on a tremendous fund raising effort over the next year. The final cost for me to do this will be over $9000. I know that I’m being called to be a part of this and I know that it completely aligns with my souls desire to help women both locally and around the world. I will come back from this experience with even greater skills and a heart to be able to do more work here locally as well. I ask that if you believe in me and this trip’s purpose resonates with you that you help make this possible for me by making a donation or purchase below. I have 4 options set up:

  1. A tax deductible donation. Braveheart Women is a 501c3 non-profit organization and your donation is fully tax deductable. To do this please make a check out to BraveHeart Foundation and mail it to me at: Noelle Rollins Art 543 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. (Any amount over $100 and I will add your name as a sponsor to a page on my website where I will have information. Any amount over $50 and I will add your name as a contributor)
  2. Host an art class at my studio. You will gather 6-15 of your friends, family or co-workers for a fun, relaxed evening out. All profits will go directly to this trip. This can be a kids party, ladies night out, moms group, painting party, etc. Cost is $40 per person. (This will not be tax deductible but your money will go towards the cause.
  3. Buy a gorgeous bracelet from me. These bracelets are beautiful and my hope is that each time you look at it you will feel the difference you’ve made. Each bracelet is $33 and comes in an organza bag and has a tag that tells about the project. These make a great gift also. I will have limited designs of each one shown, if the one you order is sold out I will let you know so we can find one that is close to the one you’ve chosen. Bracelets will begin shipping in April.
  4. If you own (or work at) a store, salon, boutique etc where women frequent and you would like to help sponsor this project let me know. I will be connecting with 11 businesses to sell bracelets; I will provide a basket to place near your register to sell 33 bracelets and will provide all information about the project to display. I will then be checking in with you bi-weekly. In exchange for this generous help, once those bracelets are sold out your name will be added to the Harmony Project website and I will add your store name to my own website and any future press releases about the project.

Lastly, I have one favor to ask each of you whether you are able to contribute through a donation or not.  I ask you to pray for this project, my part in it and the group of beautiful women and their families and friends that will be positively affected; surrounding it with uplifting and positive energy.

Thank you! Noelle

a grateful next step… clarity

I have had such a sense of frustration the last month or two.  I knew I was growing and in a time of transition so I tried to use that uneasy, feeling and keep it in the background and trust the answers would come.  I shed a few tears, had a few moments of total panic wondering if I’m crazy to think that I can make a living as an artist and in my own way, journaled, found new information to help guide me, prayed, learned, slept …. but then….

This morning I woke up with such clarity.  Finally!!   I’ve been feeling unsure if I want to continue teaching my art classes in the way that I have been, I love doing them but something wasn’t sitting right.  I finally know what it is.  The reason I do the classes is to help women, I love to see a spark occur in women that normally give all their energy to everyone else around them but finally take a few minutes for themselves.  I realized this does not belong in the business part of my life.  It belongs more in my heart area of giving back, helping my comminity and global sisterhood.  I have so many great ideas how I can move forward in teaching through retreats, and collaborating with others but for my own classes in my own studio I have some great things I’m working on that give me goosebumps.  I see a clearer plan for my artwork, prints, licensing, wholesale. A larger global presense and a stronger sense of my place in it all.   Sweet hallelujah.

More to come as this clear path ahead of me continues to unfold and come into focus.

Here is one of my newer paintings in my Souful Yoga Line.  For now it’s simply titled, “Being”.

Hello! (tip: make sure you have images set to display on my emails)

I don’t know about you but as I’m wrapping up this year I can’t help but reflect on what 2012 has been for me. I think it’s important to go through and at a minimum take a mental inventory on the year. Take a few minutes to think about the lessons learned, pat yourself on your back for some accomplishments, note some “never gonna do that agains”, and be grateful for the blessings. Then we look to 2013. I love goal setting, dreaming about what ifs, putting intentions out there to the universe. One thing I am working on right now is a list of 100 things I want to do in 2013. These are all things that are not part of my daily routine. Some are simple, some are daring. Some are sacred and many involve family adventures. 100 doesn’t seem like a lot but try it.. it’s not easy. I’ve only got about 40 or so listed so far.

One other vision I have is to connect with 200 new souls through my art classes this year. Who do I hope walks through the doors of my studio for a creative experience? Women in their 50’s and 60’s. These women have raised their kids, taken care of everyone around them for decades. They finally have a minute to take a deep breath and do something for themselves but sometimes don’t even know where to start. I hope to see women my age, so busy with their family, being a sports and activity taxi, organizing life around them. Yet they know if they don’t somehow find time to keep their own candle lit, they’ll burn out and not be as effective in helping others. I also can’t wait to see the teens and preteens. There is a such a light in these creative young beings. They have so much energy and ideas and just need creative, healthy outlets for it. And everyone in between. I often here, “But I can’t even draw a stick figure” or “but I’m left brained, I could never do an art class”. Au contraire lovely, yes you can. I have created each of these creative experiences to be a wonderful time for people with tons of creative talent and those that have never taken the time to see if they have any creativity in them. So don’t stress, you’ll have a great time. Plus I promise I will never let you leave with crap. Seriously, I will sit there all night if thats what it takes to make sure you leave with something you are proud of. Every person who has left my classes has left with a piece they are proud of. Plus, a little secret, you’ll feel flippin amazing. You’ll leave feeling like a rockstar. And everytime you look at it (even years from now) you’ll have a wave of that same proud feeling wash over you.

Take a look at the class list here. There are wine or coffee art classes, glasses, 3D floral meditative artwork and if you’r eyes glazed over when I was talking about the goals above then it’d probably really blow your mind to attend the vision board party this Saturday. Trust me it’s gonna be amazing. I know some of the people attending and they are the most fabulous people. The party is only $10 and seriously, I would pay it just to hang with a couple of the people that are gonna be there. Also one other fabulous detail, My special offer for 2013 is: For each person you refer that takes a class with you. You will recieve a $5 credit to use towards something in the studio when you take your class! Cards, Prints, Glasses, etc.

Lastly, you are not gonna want to miss the big reveal tomorrow. I have been working on my She painting for a couple months now and I can’t wait to share it. Picture this; I am sitting in the audience in Los Angeles a couple months back, we are chatting amongst ourselves as a woman takes the stage, she adjusts her instrument, mics, etc. I make a mental note that she looks great in red. Then she opens her mouth and sings, “let there be peace on Earth” acapella. With tears streaming down my face I had a vision of the painting I need to do to capture this unforgettable moment. You can see another clip of her singing this song here on you tube. She’s all class and a true example of a woman who is positively owning her power and going for it.

I wish you each a safe New Years eve and until tomorrow, **Noelle
