New Gallery Window Front

I had the pleasure this week of setting up my Music, Wine and Soul Artwork in the prime window front display at the Susan Hensel Gallery here in Minneapolis.  We snapped a few pictures that I wanted to share with you.

 SusanHensel_1

The top left painting:  For Me – Guitar   There are no crowds, no one to hear as I work through my song. It is just me and my guitar, together we learn to know each other and strive to sing in harmony. There may never be anyone who hears my song, I may never fill a stadium or a club but I love to play and today I play for me.

The bottom left painting above is: Postina.  This local band performed at the Fine Line Music Cafe a few years back when I did a show there with RAW.  They were amazing.  You can learn more about them here.

 SusanHensel_2

A few of my favorite things about the photo above:

The top left painting, “Showtime” is a painting I did a few years ago of my friend of over 30 years, Brett LaCasse.  I have loved seeing him pursue his music career.  He’s currently touring the state and a few national gigs with GB Leighton.

The top right painting was inspired by local Saxaphonist John Bertsch.   I had the pleasure of watching him perform a few years ago in Stillwater with Bruce Henry.  Really cool story that years before that show I saw Bruce Henry perform at Rossi’s Blue Star Jazz Club in Minneapolis and I was so blown away that his performance and the atmosphere that night inspired me to start painting my first music themed artwork.   You can see that painting here:

Unique cards from the Bride & Groom

Planning a wedding… I loved it.  I’ve done it twice and cannot wait to help Skylar plan hers (many years from now).

As a Bride there was never a card that fit exactly what I wanted to say. So I created them.

Finally a card saying thank you to my future in-laws:

Order here.

And a card for my own parents:

Order here.

And the same idea but from the groom:

For the groom’s parents: https://www.etsy.com/listing/182990061/

Earlier this week I also introduced Thank you cards for the wedding party. these are unisex cards so they will work for bridesmaids or groomsmen.

You can also order in groups of five cards.

Love them all?  You can order as a set. Just click the photo.

Weddings bring out the best in us. Use that time to be real, authentic and say what you are feeling.  Finding a good man or woman that you want to spend the rest of your life with is magical and beautiful. Celebrate it and give thanks to all of those around you that helps make you both who you are.

Fall updates and new announcements!

It’s been a year full of all sorts of changes so I wanted to take a few minutes and share a few new stores I’m in, where you can find my work and what new work I’m offering.  Plus I have a SUPER big announcement that I haven’t told anyone about yet. You’ll find that all the way at the bottom.  yep, I’m (not so subtly) sneaky like that.

At the end of July I ended my year at the studio, it was a really great time. I made a tough decision to listen to the inner voice telling me that even though it was great and parts I loved, it wasn’t a perfect fit.  I found myself producing and selling a lot of work, racing between home and the studio and yet somehow not any further ahead. I am learning to really appreciate that as much as I fight it, it’s when I quiet down and make myself sit in that silence for a bit that my best and deepest (most daring) ideas come to me.  2 days after moving out of the studio my family went on a 2 week road trip through Utah and out to Oregon and up to Washington and back through Montana. We did about 1/2 camping and 1/2 hotels. It was really great. Not only is the nature and site seeing incredible I am always amazed at how much it feeds my soul to take time away and be an observer. I let myself relax more, reserve judgement and just take it all in. I don’t think I’ve been on a vacation yet that didn’t change me and help me know myself better. Now with both the kids at school and preschool each day and after the changes I feel like I’m finding my groove again and hitting my stride.

NEW artwork, stores and more:

My music artwork is hanging on display until the end of the month at the Egg & I East restaurant in St. Paul (off Univ. and 280).

In a few weeks you’ll be able to start finding my Soulful Yoga artwork at the Living Waters Cafe. 12201 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55305

I have a few studios out east now carrying my Soulful Yoga series, you can also now find my prints, cards and some pallet artwork in Anoka, MN at the New Moon Metaphysical Store. They are great, and offer classes and more.

I have been expanding my small print selection.  These are small prints mounted into a 5″x7″ mat. They are ready to fit into a standard size frame that can be found at any store. People have been loving them to give as gifts and they are perfect to hang up around the office or a cubicle.  I have a few new selections on my Etsy page.

I’ve also had some that have been adding to their collection each quarter that I offer a new sport and are building a sports themed family room. Harmony Project:

Lastly, I am excited to announce that I’ve hit the $2500 mark on my fundraising for my Israel trip!!  I thank each of you who have so generously donated and purchased bracelets from me the last 8 months.    I’m both trying to celebrate the moment and feel the gratitude and also know that I still have $7000 still to raise.  I have to admit that it is not in my comfort zone to feel so publicly vulnerable and at such risk to not reach my goal all while everyone is watching.  I am trusting that things will continue to come together and I know that I am meant to be over in Jerusalem next May.  I see such a need for what we’ll be doing over there. In fact I love it that I’m beginning to be abt le to use some of these same skills and perspective I’m learning for over there and apply them right here in my own town and in fact even my own family.  This entire journey is so beautifully teaching me and making me a better person.  I would love to ask you to take a look at all the bracelets I have on my website. I have gotten another 80+ in since I’ve shared before.  The earth tone brown seems to be the most popular this fall, there are just a few of those left.  You can view them by either color or style on the website. I will also have bracelets with me at each of the shows listed above.  You can see them here.

I also have an online fundraising drive going for the next 27 days. I am at $33 raised out of a goal of $500 on here.  If you can even donate $11 I’d be SO grateful.  There are some new incentives and gifts for donations this time also.  Please check it out. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/noelle-rollins-harmony-israel-palestinian-trip-round-2

Studio Spring Open House recap

It’s hard to imagine that it was warm and sunny just a couple days ago, it’s snowing today and for the next couple days here in Minnesota. It’s pretty unheard of really. I feel incredibly grateful that we’re going to cozy up tomorrow and stay warm at home.

At the studio open house this past weekend there was speakers and I had Briana from http://www.orangespiralarts.com/ taking photos.  I’m so excited to share them with you here:

lets get this pARTy stARTed

Hello! (tip: make sure you have images set to display on my emails)

I don’t know about you but as I’m wrapping up this year I can’t help but reflect on what 2012 has been for me. I think it’s important to go through and at a minimum take a mental inventory on the year. Take a few minutes to think about the lessons learned, pat yourself on your back for some accomplishments, note some “never gonna do that agains”, and be grateful for the blessings. Then we look to 2013. I love goal setting, dreaming about what ifs, putting intentions out there to the universe. One thing I am working on right now is a list of 100 things I want to do in 2013. These are all things that are not part of my daily routine. Some are simple, some are daring. Some are sacred and many involve family adventures. 100 doesn’t seem like a lot but try it.. it’s not easy. I’ve only got about 40 or so listed so far.

One other vision I have is to connect with 200 new souls through my art classes this year. Who do I hope walks through the doors of my studio for a creative experience? Women in their 50’s and 60’s. These women have raised their kids, taken care of everyone around them for decades. They finally have a minute to take a deep breath and do something for themselves but sometimes don’t even know where to start. I hope to see women my age, so busy with their family, being a sports and activity taxi, organizing life around them. Yet they know if they don’t somehow find time to keep their own candle lit, they’ll burn out and not be as effective in helping others. I also can’t wait to see the teens and preteens. There is a such a light in these creative young beings. They have so much energy and ideas and just need creative, healthy outlets for it. And everyone in between. I often here, “But I can’t even draw a stick figure” or “but I’m left brained, I could never do an art class”. Au contraire lovely, yes you can. I have created each of these creative experiences to be a wonderful time for people with tons of creative talent and those that have never taken the time to see if they have any creativity in them. So don’t stress, you’ll have a great time. Plus I promise I will never let you leave with crap. Seriously, I will sit there all night if thats what it takes to make sure you leave with something you are proud of. Every person who has left my classes has left with a piece they are proud of. Plus, a little secret, you’ll feel flippin amazing. You’ll leave feeling like a rockstar. And everytime you look at it (even years from now) you’ll have a wave of that same proud feeling wash over you.

Take a look at the class list here. There are wine or coffee art classes, glasses, 3D floral meditative artwork and if you’r eyes glazed over when I was talking about the goals above then it’d probably really blow your mind to attend the vision board party this Saturday. Trust me it’s gonna be amazing. I know some of the people attending and they are the most fabulous people. The party is only $10 and seriously, I would pay it just to hang with a couple of the people that are gonna be there. Also one other fabulous detail, My special offer for 2013 is: For each person you refer that takes a class with you. You will recieve a $5 credit to use towards something in the studio when you take your class! Cards, Prints, Glasses, etc.

Lastly, you are not gonna want to miss the big reveal tomorrow. I have been working on my She painting for a couple months now and I can’t wait to share it. Picture this; I am sitting in the audience in Los Angeles a couple months back, we are chatting amongst ourselves as a woman takes the stage, she adjusts her instrument, mics, etc. I make a mental note that she looks great in red. Then she opens her mouth and sings, “let there be peace on Earth” acapella. With tears streaming down my face I had a vision of the painting I need to do to capture this unforgettable moment. You can see another clip of her singing this song here on you tube. She’s all class and a true example of a woman who is positively owning her power and going for it.

I wish you each a safe New Years eve and until tomorrow, **Noelle

What are people saying who have taken classes with us before?

I  loved your classes, both were such fun experiences.  It was such a fun activity to do for our MOMS night out too, everyone was able to put their own inspiration into their work and spend time in the company of great women!  I love your focus and themes that you have brought to your studio and your classes.  All ages and walks of life can find comfort and easy as they step into your studio and create.  You also have a way of making the not so creative souls find their own creativity too!!!  Thanks so much for the wonderful experiences, I know I will be back or more!      Darcy
Noelle’s new studio is fabulous and fun!  I went to a class last week and went home with my own painting – and I can’t paint!  But, indeed, Noelle had a special way of teaching through meditation, reflection, and new insights that she shared.  As a result, my messy start to art with dark, disjointed, and wildly placed paints turned into a beautiful fall day with brightly colored flowers and trees with leaves falling all around the bench I envisioned as Noelle talked us through the painting process.   I’ll be back for more classes soon!        Charity
I had such a great time taking your class a few weeks ago!  I haven’t painted in over ten years, so was pretty sure my painting would look like my 5 year old’s work.  But it turned out beautiful, and I was so inspired by the night!  The fun, the laughs, just letting my creativity take over… it was wonderful!  You were a fantastic teacher and it was so much fun to spend the evening in your studio.  Thank you!!        Bonnie
I attended two of Noelle’s painting classes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!   Her spiritual take on life is a breath of fresh air.  She was positive and encouraging.   I’ve recommended her Soulful Discoveries class to friends. -Kathleen
Noelle’s “Crossroads” painting class was amazing!! I have never thought of myself as an artist but this class changed the way I look at myself!! This class provided 2+ hours of fun and friendship and opened up a whole new world of creativity for me!  – Brenda

You can register for these classes now by either clicking on a picture above or go to:  Soulful Art Classes

First Week of Art Classes!!!

So I’ve completed my first group of art classes this past weekend. I finished that 3rd class and afterwards as I was cleaning up I was overtaken with appreciation and gratitude.  I feel so incredibly blessed that my hard work all these years and putting myself out there and trusting my intuition that kept shouting at me to offer classes, open a studio, etc.. was right.  I felt 1000% sure that I am doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing in my life right now.

During these classes I got to share a few hours with amazingly beautiful women. Got to hear about their lives, their humor and share some deep life conversations. All while doing art.  Life is good.

Here are some pics:
